Avi Jacob

Avi Jacob

Avi Jacob first came to the Friday night Hootenannies on a rainy fall night in 2007, where his rootsy folk songwriting, agile fingerpicking, and voice spineshivering held the crowd rapt. He left behind copies of his self-published debut EP “Whole Wide World,” which hightailed it to the top of the WFR Pop Charts. He continued to perform at the hoots and in 2008 was invited to be the first “outside” artist to release an album on the Whitehaus Family Record. Avi recorded Frolic-a-holic in an empty church in downtown Boston and it was released to strong critical acclaim. Frolic-a-holic continues to be a popular record among oldschool Whitehaus friends as well as newcomers. Avi is currently in the process of recording his next album, tentatively titled “The New Great Depression.”
